Save the Dates are a great way to get the word out to your guests about your wedding details before finalizing the plans! They allow guests to plan ahead and be prepared for traveling so that when the invitation comes, they can easily fill out that RSVP card and drop it in the mail!
But, where do couples go wrong with save the dates? Ordering way too many!! When you start a guest list and start planning, everyone asks you what your guest count is, and it's easy to get that number stuck in your head. But you don't need that many save the dates or invitations! Count by household, not by person. This seems so simple and so obvious, yet it's a mistake that happens all the time. So if you're planning to send out save the dates or know someone who is... remind them that they should count the households on their list, and not just order a couple hundred because they're inviting 200 people to the wedding - they probably don't need more than 125 save the dates!
